History, wine tradition, generations? Of course, strong terms that I can talk about for hours, but I don’t have to. My winery is a image of myself based home in Dittelsheim-Hessloch, a beautiful wine village in the wineregion Rheinhessen. Instead of looking back ,it is the look into the future, which gives me power und creativity to do my job in the winery every day.

I don’t know of any other winery that offers this variety of vineyards in so many special places. We start at the „Rheinfront“. Here the vines are rooted in fertile loess, and of course, the view towards the Odenwald is fascinating. My homearea is called „Wonnegau“- the great home of my rieslings. Barren soils, torn by limestone, give rise to wines that are bursting with minerality and finesse.
In 2018, I got the chance to manage a beautiful parcel in one of the most famous vineyards of Germany – Mölsheimer Zellerweg am Schwarzen Herrgott. Riesling, once again completely different, as I knew it before. Simply a gift and incredibly exciting.

A wine must be a reflection of the vintage.

In 2010 I bottled the first wine of the winery. Being a winemaker, it is for me  an all-encompassing craft. From pruning to all manual work, from tractor rides to cellar management. The cold of winter during pruning, the heat of summer  and also the wonderful hustle and stress during the harvest. It’s all part of it. I don’t want to trade it for anything in the world. This is the only way to create wines that have something to say and have their own pulse.

Each segment has its own wine. I like the annual game of vinification. From fruity dry rosé to expressive red wine from wooden barrels. Sure, Riesling and Chardonnay, everyone loves it.  But I’m also passionate about Sauvignon Blanc, Muskateller, Müller-Thurgau and Scheurebe. Sometimes dry, sometimes sweet.

Working in the vineyard is to be understood as a craft.

The roughness of nature, the heat of summer, the cold of winter combined with the daily work in the vineyard must be tasteable.

While the white wines are matured in modern stainless steel tanks, the red wines are aging in barriques. Adapted to the individuality of the wines they are on the lees for up to one year. The timing of bottling at the winery is based on the quality levels of the wines.

Each parcel must be considered individually

We harvest selectively and separately at the optimal time. Here we guarantee that only the best grapes are harvested.
